BIO

Nicholas Bosoni Photographer in Laos

Nicholas Bosoni is an Italian documentary photographer based in Vientiane, Laos, working across Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on the Mekong region. His work explores places undergoing rapid transformation, examining the fragile balance between continuity and change.

With a background in development studies and experience as a geography researcher, Bosoni approaches photography as a way to investigate how economic change, infrastructure, and regional dynamics reshape everyday life. Since 2020, he has been developing long-term visual work that traces these transformations across the region.

Through a quiet, immersive approach grounded in long-term engagement, Bosoni is drawn to environments where time feels layered, where traces of the past remain visible within accelerating change. His work questions the idea of progress and its underlying assumptions.

His photographs have been exhibited internationally and published in global media. He collaborates with NGOs, research institutions, and development initiatives across Southeast Asia.
